Thank you for this wonderful and open piece of writing. Your courage to share despite other people’s taunting and judgement is inspiring and will definitely make a few people think twice before they make an insensitive joke. Moreover, your willingness to discuss your mental health helps more people understand and gets us closer to where we need to be in understanding and assisting each other.

I have been living 3,000 miles away from my folks for 20 years and would embrace an opportunity to move in with them and enjoy their golden years, as well as help them out around the house - especially in these times when a virus threatens all of our health and guarantees no tomorrows. Alas, I can't because I have a 6-year old daughter who needs to be close to both her parents. But you better believe my door will always be open to her as long as I am alive and no matter what she is going through....
