Thank you for this piece. Writing is a sacred art and like all forms of art, it can become watered down when monetized. Creative writers are on the endangered species list like jazz musicians. We must do all we can to respect and cherish those who pen (or type) for a passion and not a pay day. Unfortunately, grammar apps, word processing programs, and digital platforms will continue to homogenize the written word, much like how digital tunes have tainted analog music. That is not to imply that digital music is not creative, but to recognize the reality that a digital sound wave is a fraction of the size and scope of an analog one. If we just filter our voices through auto-tune and do not learn through singing off-key, then we elimnate the beauty that can be found in the process of trial and error, exemplified in the remarkable nuances and versatliy of the falsetto (or a wildly fascinating and entertaining piece of provocative and experimental prose).

Let us embrace the creative process and support creative writers because like jazz music, creative writing is too incredible an art form to ever completely vanish. There will always be corners and pockets of the Internet, like jazz lounges, where you can indulge in the beauty of the process of creation and enjoy the expansive benefits of imagination and creativity.
