Masks Are Trash
Please throw them away when you are done with them
“Daddy, why are there so many masks on the ground? Don’t people know to throw away their trash? Don’t those masks have germs on them?” Evidently, the conservative right does not believe in wearing masks so this must be a liberal problem. Unfortunately, like all things in America, our way of life and hopes for survival have once again been politicized.
In similar fashion to environmentalism, COVID-19 and public safety protocol have become political fodder and battleground for the ruling classes, professional con-artists who will do anything to differentiate themselves from their opponents. Wearing a mask and protecting each other has been up for debate just like the environmental movement and the preservation of the very precious air that we breath, the water we drink, and the ground that we walk upon.
It took decades for environmentalism to bust through to the conscience of mainstream America. However, with coronavirus we will not be afforded the luxury of such a slow and gradual awakening. Despite the denial of the right, mounting death tolls will in short time expose the flaws of our lackadaisical approach to communally conquering this virus. Yet, this article is not a plea to wear masks, but a plea to throw them away!
